After six incredible years of teaching yoga at The Longwood Institute Hall, it's time for me to close this chapter and embrace a new phase of my journey - one that centres around motherhood.
When I had my first baby, I was fortunate enough to take a pause and even had another wonderful teacher step in to cover my classes. Though I returned to teaching sooner than I had hoped, I was determined to keep my business thriving and my clients happy.
It wasn’t easy, but it worked at the time.
However, as soon as I found out I was pregnant with our second child, I knew it was time to make some changes. Managing evening classes with one child was doable, but the thought of juggling bedtime with two little ones felt overwhelming. My husband, ever supportive and capable, would have managed, but I didn’t want to miss out on those precious moments with my family.
So, I made the tough decision to stop teaching evening classes after the birth of our second baby. While my students were sad, they were also understanding. I knew this was the right choice for me. This season of my life is all about being present with my children and finding a balance between motherhood and running my business.
Now, I focus on working during the day, mostly while my little one naps and my older child is in daycare or being babysat by my mother-in-law.
I feel a mix of sadness and gratitude as I close this chapter. I’m incredibly thankful for the time I spent teaching in the beautiful Longwood Institute Hall and for the amazing community we built together. I miss my fellow yogis dearly.
But this isn’t the end of my in-person classes - it’s just a pause. I’m excited to explore new opportunities and I plan to host events both in-person and online in the future.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Here’s to new beginnings!
