1) GET ORGANISED
Prep your breakfast ahead of time. I love prepping my oats, spices, and seeds in a saucepan the night before. In the morning, just add water and cook!
Lay out your activewear the night before. I even arrange mine on a clothes horse in the order I’ll put them on.
2) ESTABLISH A ROUTINE
Find your optimal workout time: morning, noon, or night. Commit to exercising at the same or similar time each day or weekday.
Set achievable goals for your weekly activity. As a family person, I reserve weekends for family time, but I still stay active with gardening, playground adventures or similar.
3) LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
Experiment with different workouts until you find what suits you best. There are so many options. From yoga, Pilates, strength training, Tabata and more. All which you can do from home!
Aim for at least two days of cardio per week to get your heart pumping. Whether it’s a brisk walk, a hike, or gardening, any activity that elevates your heart rate counts.
4) SET REALISTIC GOALS
Define clear, achievable goals for your fitness journey. Whether it’s completing a certain number of workouts per week or aiming for specific improvements in strength, setting realistic targets can help keep you motivated and focused.
5) MIX IT UP
Prevent boredom and plateaus by incorporating variety into your workouts. Alternate between different types of exercise, such as cardio, strength training, flexibility work, and recreational activities you enjoy. This not only keeps things interesting but also ensures you’re working different muscle groups and challenging your body in new ways.
6) PRIORITISE RECOVERY
Don’t overlook the importance of rest and recovery in your fitness routine. Schedule rest days to allow your body (and mind!) time to repair and rebuild muscle tissue. Incorporate activities like stretching, foam rolling, and relaxation techniques to aid recovery and reduce the risk of injury.
7) FIND SUPPORT
Surround yourself with a supportive community of friends, family, or like-minded individuals who share your fitness goals.
Joining a workout group, fitness class, or online community can provide accountability, encouragement, and motivation to stay on track with your exercise regimen.
8) CELEBRATE YOUR PROGRESS
Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements along the way, no matter how small. Whether it’s reaching a milestone, mastering a new exercise, or simply staying consistent with your workouts, take time to pat yourself on the back and reflect on how far you’ve come. Positive reinforcement can boost morale and inspire you to keep pushing towards your goals.
I hope these tips provide valuable insight on how to set yourself up for successful mornings and stay motivated to exercise daily.
